Siding Installation and Repair in Asheville, NC

Siding is your home's outer skin, keeping rain, wind and pests out of the walls. We repair damaged sections and install new siding that protects your home and refreshes the way it looks.

Siding That Keeps Moisture Where It Belongs

Most people think of siding as the look of a house, and it is. But its real job is to shed water. Rain hits the walls, runs down the face of the siding and drips off at the bottom, while a weather barrier underneath catches any water that slips behind. When siding cracks, warps or comes loose, water reaches the sheathing and framing, and damage can spread inside the wall long before you see it.

The Asheville area is hard on siding. Humid summers keep shaded walls damp, wind-driven rain pushes water into gaps, and freeze and thaw cycles open small cracks wider every winter. Walls near the ground get splashed by rain and soil, and walls facing heavy tree cover may barely dry out. We look for those pressure points when we assess your home, including the trim around windows and doors where water often gets in first.

Whether you need one damaged section replaced or a whole house re-sided, we start with a visit and an honest assessment. Owner Pablo Magos looks at what is underneath when we can see it, not just the surface, because new siding over wet or rotted sheathing will not solve the problem. You get a written estimate and help choosing a siding that suits your home, your budget and our mountain climate.

Noticing Cracks, Warping or Stains?

Your Siding May Be Letting Water In

We Look Behind the Surface

Good siding work starts with understanding how water moves around your home. As roofers, we see your house as one system from the ridge to the foundation, and siding is a big part of it. Pablo Magos gives you an honest assessment and only recommends a full re-side when repairs no longer make sense.

We check the sheathing and trim around problem areas instead of covering damage with new panels.

As roofers, we understand how roof edges, gutters and walls work together to shed water.

If a few replaced pieces will solve the problem, we will say so before suggesting more.

Siding Questions

Look for cracked, warped or bulging pieces, gaps at seams and corners, soft spots when you press on the wall and mold or mildew that keeps coming back. Peeling paint or stains on the inside of an exterior wall can point to moisture behind the siding. Drafts near outside walls are another clue.

We try to match profile, size and color as closely as we can. Older siding fades in the sun, and some styles are no longer made, so a perfect match is not always possible. If new pieces would stand out, one option is to move original pieces from a hidden wall to the visible area and put the new ones where they will not be noticed.

Walls that get little sun stay damp longer after rain and in humid weather, which invites mildew, algae and rot. Around Asheville, many homes sit under heavy tree cover, so one or two walls may rarely dry out completely. Those are the walls we check most carefully.

Damaged siding is one of the first things buyers and inspectors notice. Repairing obvious damage can help your home show better, while a full replacement may make sense if the siding is worn out everywhere. We will give you an honest view of which approach fits your situation.

Yes. Siding is the first layer, but a weather-resistant barrier underneath is what stops water that gets past it. Flashing above windows and doors directs water back out. If either is missing or damaged, new siding alone will not keep the wall dry, so we check them when we can.

Often. Overflowing gutters, or a missing kick-out flashing where a roof edge meets a wall, can pour water down the siding in one spot and cause stains and rot. When we find siding damage, we look above it to see whether roof water is the real cause.
