- Haywood County Roofing
Roofing for a Hardworking River Town
Canton sits on the Pigeon River in Haywood County, west of Asheville along I-40. The town grew up around its paper mill, and many neighborhoods still have homes from that era, built close together on hillside streets above the river. Those houses have character, and many have roofs that have been repaired more than once. We take the time to understand an older roof before recommending anything.
Hurricane Helene brought serious flooding along the Pigeon River in late September 2024, and the wind and rain that came with it tested roofs across town. If you have noticed new stains, loose flashing or shingles that do not lie flat since then, it is worth an inspection. We look over the whole roof, keep a careful record of what we find, and give you a plan in writing.
Outside the town center, homes spread up into the coves and ridges toward the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest. Trees, shade and steep driveways are part of life out there. Metal roofing is a strong choice for many of these homes, and because we make our own panels and trim, we can offer a good range of colors and profiles, or sell you materials for your own project.
What We Can Do for Your Home

Roof Repair
Older roofs often hide several layers of past fixes. We track down where water is really getting in, whether at a chimney, a valley or a worn section, and repair it properly.

Roof Replacement
When a roof has reached the end of its life, we replace it with new shingles or metal, inspect and repair the decking underneath, and leave you with a roof built for mountain weather.

Storm Damage Repair
Wind, falling limbs and driving rain all leave marks. We inspect, photograph and write up every damaged area, then restore the roof. You are free to pass that record to your insurance company.

Metal Roofing
Metal roofing suits homes on steep, wooded lots around town. We make our panels and trim in-house on our own machine, with custom colors and profiles, and sell materials to homeowners and contractors too.

Gutters
Hillside streets send a lot of water downhill. Properly sized and pitched gutters keep that runoff off your foundation, your front steps and your neighbor's yard.

Siding
We repair damaged siding and install new siding on older and newer homes alike, helping your house shed moisture and look cared for from the street.

Canton Roofing Questions
Our home is one of the older ones in town. What should we expect from its roof?
Older homes often carry several generations of roofing work, sometimes with layers of shingles stacked on top of each other. That adds weight and can hide soft decking. We inspect carefully, explain what we find, and recommend either a focused repair or a full tear-off and replacement, depending on what the roof really needs.
Should I have my roof inspected after a major storm even if I have not seen a leak?
It is a sensible step. A storm with strong wind and long hours of heavy rain can leave damage behind, and problems like lifted shingles, cracked boots around vent pipes or loose flashing do not always leak right away. We will check the whole roof, note and photograph any damage, and let you know honestly whether anything needs attention.
We live up a long wooded drive outside town. Will that be a problem?
No. Plenty of homes in Haywood County sit up long, steep drives, and we plan for it. During the estimate we look at how trucks and materials can reach the house and where the crew can work safely. The trees around your home matter too, since overhanging limbs drop debris and keep the roof damp, so we factor them into our recommendation.
Will gutters really help on a hillside street?
Yes. Without gutters, rain pours off the eaves and soaks the ground right at the foundation, and on a slope it can wash out soil, steps and walkways. Well-placed gutters and downspouts collect that water and send it where it can drain safely. We install new systems and repair old ones that sag, leak or overflow.
Do I have to pay for an estimate?
You do not. Every estimate we give is free and comes with no obligation. Pablo visits your home himself, inspects the roof, and gives you a written estimate you can hold onto while you make up your mind. Take as long as you need.
What profiles and colors of metal roofing do you make?
We manufacture metal panels and trim on our own machine and offer a range of profiles and colors, including mechanical-seam metal roofing. The easiest way to see the choices is to ask during your estimate, or call us if you are buying materials for your own project. We can also help you measure and order.
